Importance of Play (Multilingual)

In this film, you will see parents and their children enjoying each other's company. You will also see our Play Therapist talking about the benefits of play. Many examples are shown of parents joining their children in play.

Children express themselves through play. Children learn to grow through play. All children need to play.

When parents and children play together it strengthens attachment which will last a lifetime.

On this DVD you will see how:

  • minimizing distractions
  • making eye contact with your child
  • watching to see what they are interested in,
    and following their lead
  • playing with household objects
  • reserving regular time for play

strengthens attachment and builds the parent/child relationship.

This film has been produced by Westcoast Family Centres, an agency that has been providing parenting programs since 1984.
