Community Connector

The applicant will manage, coordinate, and implement engagement opportunities for residents focused on the creation of Family Friendly neighborhoods.  They will be responsible to plan for multiple engagement opportunities, on time and within budget. The Community Connector will also seek new relationships with various stakeholders within the community. The Community Connector will also provide ongoing recruitment, training, support and guidance to the UWAOC Champions and ensure the quality and continuity of volunteer-delivered client services.

Project Summary
The United Way Avenues of Change (UWAOC) initiative within Coquitlam River has courageously developing innovative strategies to engage local residents and businesses in the creation of a Family Friendly neighborhood in which children and families will thrive.  This initiative aims to continue to enhance children’s well-being in the Coquitlam River while extending their reach into the Burke Mountain neighborhood.  Additionally the focus for UWAOC for the year of 2018-2019 is in building community capacity to sustain this initiative.

Administrative Assistant 1

The applicant will provide assistance and support to the Team Leader. Coordinates a variety of clerical and reception duties; prepares correspondence, and maintains a variety of other records.

Senior Therapeutic Supervised Access Worker

The Senior Therapeutic Supervised Access Worker provides supervision and monitoring for visits between parents and their children where there are concerns for the physical, psychological, or emotional safety. Visits will take place in the family home, the foster family’s home, or in a program or community setting. Visits could be between one family or with a group of families, if this is appropriate. The Senior Therapeutic Supervised Access Worker will/may provide transportation to and from a visit for the children. The Senior Supervised Access Worker must be able to work Friday to Tuesday and will be required to work weekends and evenings. This position must be available for staff consultation and any emergency calls that may arise.

Therapeutic Supervised Access Worker

The Therapeutic Supervised Access Worker provides supervision and monitoring for visits between parents and their children where there are concerns for the physical, psychological, or emotional safety. Visits will take place in the family home, the foster family’s home, or in a program or community setting. Visits could be between one family or with a group of families, if this is appropriate. The Therapeutic Supervised Access Worker will/may provide transportation to and from a visit for the children. The position must be able to work Tuesday to Saturday and will be required to work weekends and evenings.

Position Type: 30 hours permanent part time, Tuesday to Saturday

Co-Parenting Family Counsellor (FLA Counsellor)

The Co-Parenting Family Counsellor offers a unique service designed to address complex family issues.  This service is focused on providing support to those families where high-conflict or challenging behaviors are negatively impacting the children during or after separation/ divorce. The primary goal for this service is to establish appropriate, healthy co-parent relationships. Over an 8-12 week process a Co-Parenting Family Counsellor (FLA Family Counsellor), will facilitate sessions where the parents can work to establish a cooperative parenting plan.

Child and Youth Care Worker

This is an hourly position serving clients in the Tri-Cities community. The Child and Youth Care Worker provides one to one support to children and youth with special needs.  This is a community access program focusing on functional life skills and community integration.  The key purpose is to help the children and youth we serve to improve their quality of life, improved social interaction, increased communication ability and recreation skills with peers; and provide opportunities to develop skills for increased independence in the areas of personal care, home living and community access.

Child and Youth Support Workers

This is an hourly position serving clients in the North Fraser Service Delivery Area (Burnaby, New Westminster, Tri-cities community, and Ridge Meadows. The Worker provides safe transportation primarily to children and youth ages 0-18 who are in the care of the Ministry, who demonstrate a range of behaviours and needs, and who may exhibit challenging behaviours.  The key purpose is to safely transport and provide support to children and youth who have experience adverse life events. Various positions (f/t and p/t).
