The application deadline for a September 2026 start date is February 13, 2026
Our Clinical Internship Program provides an opportunity for students completing their master’s-level counselling or social work degree to fulfill practicum and professional registration requirements. This 10-month program runs from September to June and offers valuable experience within a strength-based counselling agency.
For over 15 years, we have partnered with students from the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, University of Victoria, Dalhousie University, Yorkville University, and Adler University.
Clinical Interns apply their counselling skills while working with children and adults facing various barriers and challenges. Interns receive training in evidence-based interventions, expressive therapeutic techniques, and other modalities. Our practitioners work from a trauma-informed and systemic perspective, emphasizing sensitivity and compassion. Interns gain hands-on experience in screening, case conceptualization, intake, goal setting, comprehensive reporting, and ongoing case documentation.
Our site receives referrals through the Ministry of Children and Family Development. We prioritize referrals for children, so experience and interest in working with children and families is preferred. By the end of the program, our goal is for students to develop the skills, perspectives, and professionalism required to begin their careers as entry-level counsellors
