Introducing Westcoast Family Centres’ 2026–2030 Strategic Plan

July 20, 2026

WFC Updates

At Westcoast Family Centres (WFC), our commitment to children, youth, and families has always guided everything we do. Today, we are proud to introduce our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, a roadmap that will help shape our work over the next five years and strengthen our impact across the communities we serve.

Building on a Strong Foundation

Strategic planning is more than an organizational exercise, it is an opportunity to reflect on where we have been, celebrate what we have accomplished, listen to those we serve, and thoughtfully chart a course for the future. A strong strategic plan helps ensure that our programs, services, partnerships, and resources remain aligned with our mission and vision while responding to the ever evolving needs of families and communities.

As we developed this new plan, we also took time to look back on our previous strategic plan. We are proud of the progress we made and the goals we achieved. Through the dedication of our staff, volunteers, partners, funders, and community members, WFC successfully advanced many of the priorities we set for ourselves, strengthening our services, expanding our reach, and deepening our impact. Those achievements provide a strong foundation for the next chapter of our journey.

Our Mission

“Westcoast Family Centres Society strengthens relationships between children and families and between families and their communities.”

Our Vision

“All families reach their full potential.”

Our Values

Dignity

We care about people. We meet families, youth, children, and other professionals where they’re at, and we treat all people with respect, compassion, and with open hearts.

Inclusivity

We believe that communities are stronger when everyone is welcome. We actively listen, we celebrate others’ success, and we hold one another accountable.

Collaboration

We can’t do this work in isolation. We go out of our way to work with our colleagues, families, community members, and peers in the sector to ensure the people we serve have every opportunity to reach their potential.

Resilience

We are progressive, curious, and committed to continuous learning for our clients, our team, our organization, and our business. In crises, we act swiftly to remove barriers and find solutions.

Our Strategic Priorities for 2026–2030

The 2026–2030 Strategic Plan is built around five key priorities that will guide our organization over the coming years.

A. Children, Youth & Families

We will deepen our relationship with the people we work with and better understand their individual needs.

B. People-Centred Programs

We seek to secure relevant and innovative programs and service.

C. Truth & Reconciliation

We will strengthen Westcoast Family Centre’s commitment to Truth and Reconciliation by advancing culturally responsive, inclusive, and meaningful practices for Indigenous families and staff

D. Strong WFC Team & a Positive Workplace Environment

We will strengthen the WFC team and workplace.

E. Excellence in Services & Programs with Alignment of Public Awareness

We build excellence in services & programs, and increase public profile.

Looking Ahead

The next five years represent an exciting opportunity for growth, innovation, and deeper community impact. While the needs of families and communities continue to evolve, our commitment remains steadfast. Guided by our mission, vision, and values, we will continue working collaboratively to create meaningful change and help ensure that all families have the opportunity to thrive.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff, families, partners, stakeholders, and community members who contributed their voices and perspectives to this process. Together, we are building a stronger future.

We look forward to putting our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan into action and continuing our work toward a future where all families reach their full potential.
