Summer is officially here!
Recently at Westcoast Family Centres, families receiving our services have been given the chance to participate in a range of fun summer activities in our local community.
Whether through joining a sports team, or attending an art class, Westcoast families have been given an incredible opportunity for play, aiding their own healthy development, growth and emotional well-being. Most importantly, none of this could have happened without you!
We wanted you to be the first to know that our Help Kids Play campaign this season was a great success. Read on for the opportunities that donors provided to Westcoast families this season!
We would like to extend our gratitude to all individuals and organizations who helped Westcoast children play this summer!
This season has been incredibly memorable for Help Kids Play – we are forever thankful to the following organizations that provided us with recreational opportunities that our families will cherish during the warmer months.
There are also many different ways to give back during Help Kids Play campaign – read on for the types of opportunities and support that can be provided to our families.
SEFA Soccer
SEFA Soccer provided Westcoast families with soccer training vouchers for families to learn soccer.
Vancouver Art Gallery
The Vancouver Art Gallery provided Westcoast with a community membership to offer general admission tickets to Westcoast families for one year!
4Cats Studio
4Cats Studio provided a Westcoast Family with vouchers to attend 4Cats art workshops!
Royal Soccer Club
Royal Soccer Club provided numerous Westcoast families with weeks of soccer camp throughout the Lower Mainland!
Pedalheads
Pedalheads provided Westcoast families with vouchers to attend kids programs in British Columbia!
Vancouver Mysteries
Vancouver Mysteries provided Westcoast families with opportunities to play their outdoor games downtown!
3Squares Art Studio
3Squares Art Studio provided vouchers for Westcoast children to attend drop-in art classes at their studio!
The Rec Room
The Rec Room provided passes to Westcoast families to play games at their Brentwood location!
Electronic Arts
Thank you to EA Games for providing game codes to Westcoast families this summer!

Thank you to Rolla Skate Club for providing vouchers to families to attend skate nights!
Free Form Studio
Thank you to Free Form Studio for providing opportunities for Westcoast children to attend art classes!

More Ways to Give Throughout The Year
Holiday Hampers
Each year during the months of October – December, donors support Westcoast Family Centres participants by providing them with hampers full of essentials.
We have a few ways that you can get involved in our Holiday Hamper program this upcoming season:
- You can sponsor a family in need and purchase, wrap and drop off a gift hamper with items our families requested during the holidays. This is often done by individuals in the community or by organizations through team building initiatives.
- We will have an Amazon Wishlist that can be shopped with items to provide families outside their requested list of essentials. Items on the Amazon Wishlist include, gift cards, appliances, bikes and games at affordable price points to make giving back easier.
- We also accept cash donations to help our team supplement holiday hampers and purchase additional essential items requested by WFC families.
Please note: Our sponsorship form for Holiday Hampers will be open late September. Please email development@westcoastfamily.org for any inquiries or early interest in sponsoring this program and we would be glad to help you get started!
Building Blocks for Better Lives
Our Building Blocks fund is here to help ease the financial burden of the families we serve across Greater Vancouver year-round. Through our cash donation portal, we use funds to supply immediate needs like grocery food cards, transportation, and clothing to families, as well as other support services and essential goods.

Join us for a 5-week Infant Massage Course for parents with children 0-12 months old.
In addition to learning the strokes, discover how Infant Massage, through deep connection and gentle nurturing touch can:
- Strengthen your bond with your baby
- Improve sleep and relaxation
- Aid digestion and ease colic
- Support healthy growth and development
Please dress comfortably and bring along a yoga mat, towel or blanket. Massage oil will be provided.
